The Americans practically invented the modern lovelorn teenager.  At its heart, the American dream is fuelled by an aching tenderness; they are a nation of romantic comedies and drive in movies. They love public display of affections (PDA) unlike their neighbour’s across the water. The Brits are a more reserved culture and have a love-hate view of it.  Most hate the romanticized idea of romance of flowers and soppy love poems but still secretly hope to catch someone’s eye.
